Paramedics are the key players in the Health & Medical Sector. Without paramedics, the entire Health Industry is out of gear and is almost non-functionary.


A Paramedic is a Professional who helps the Doctors in specialized areas and facilities for better diagnosis, treatment and therapy. The increase in number of patients, variety of diseases and the demand for immense treatment have paved the way for paramedical professionals who are expert technicians or therapists providing better quality towards Human Health Care. Thus the field of paramedical sciences is gaining ever increasing importance and demand, offering lucrative careers in the health sector.

PRAMEDICAL COURSES 


1. B.Sc. (MLT) COURSE (Medical Laboratory Technology) – 3 Years

2. B.P.T. COURSE (Bachelor of Physiotherapy) -4½Years


Candidates seeking admission to any of the above degree courses should have a pass in the HSC (Academic/Vocational) examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent examination thereto with a minimum of 50% (40% for SC/ST/OBC/MBC) candidates/marks in any one of the following three subjects combination and should have English as one of the subjects.

  • Biology / Physics and Chemistry

  • Physics, Foundation Science and Medical Laboratory Assistant Course

  • Chemistry, Foundation Science and Nursing Course


Age Limit for B.P.T: 17 Years as on 31st December of the year. However no upper age limit has been prescribed.


3. M.Sc. MEDICAL BIOCHEMISTRY – 3 Years

Eligibility for Admission

B.Sc. Degree (completed within the minimum period of 3 years of study) of any recognized University with Biochemistry or Chemistry as main subject with Biology (Botany/Zoology) as ancillary subject or B.Sc. (Medical Laboratory Technology) Course with a minimum of 55% marks.


4. M.Sc. MEDICAL, MICROBIOLOGY – 3 Years

Eligibility for Admission

B.Sc. Degree (completed within the minimum period of 3 years of study) of any recognized University with Microbiology as main subject with Physics and Chemistry as ancillary subjects or B.Sc. (Medical Laboratory Technology) Course with a minimum of 55% marks.

Candidates can consider Paramedical Science as their career. It is upcoming field.
